At 8:30 am ET Friday, Statistics Canada will release Canada jobs data for December. The loonie held steady against its major counterparts before the data.
The loonie was worth 83.90 against the yen, 1.4498 against the euro, 0.8988 against the aussie and 1.3070 against the greenback at 8:25 am ET.
