The Labor Department is scheduled to release U.S. jobs report for December at 8:30 am ET Friday. The greenback held steady against its major counterparts before the data.
The greenback was worth 109.64 against the yen, 1.0910 against the euro, 1.3074 against the pound and 0.9757 against the franc at 8:25 am ET.
