At 4.30 am ET Wednesday, the Office for National Statistics releases UK consumer and producer prices for December. Consumer price inflation is expected to remain unchanged at 1.5 percent.
Ahead of these data, the pound fell against its major rivals. The pound was worth 1.3015 against the greenback, 143.05 against the yen, 1.2570 against the franc and 0.8552 against the euro as of 4:25 am ET.
