The U.S. durable goods orders data for December will be published at 8:30 am ET Tuesday. Ahead of the data, the greenback advanced against its major rivals.
The greenback was worth 1.1007 against the euro, 109.03 against the yen, 0.9726 against the franc and 1.3009 against the pound as of 8:25 am ET.
