Austria's producer prices declined for the seventh straight month in December, figures from Statistics Austria showed on Thursday.
The producer price index declined 0.4 percent year-on-year in December, following a 1.1 percent fall in November.
The decline in producer prices was mainly driven by a fall in energy prices and intermediate goods by 2.1 percent and 1.6 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, prices for capital goods rose 1.3 percent in December and those for consumer goods increased 2.1 percent.
On a monthly basis, producer prices remained unchanged in December, after a 0.2 percent rise in the preceding month.
In the year 2019, producer prices edged up 0.1 percent after a 2.4 percent increase in 2018.
