As expected, the Bank of England maintained interest rate at 0.75 percent and asset-purchase program at GBP 435 billion. The pound advanced against its major rivals after the decision.
The pound was trading at 1.3063 against the greenback, 142.28 against the yen, 1.2692 against the franc and 0.8423 against the euro around 7:03 am ET.
