At 2.00 am ET Friday, Destatis has released Germany's retail sales for December. The euro changed little against its major rivals after the data.
The euro was trading at 1.1019 against the greenback, 120.16 against the yen, 1.0700 against the franc and 0.8412 against the pound around 2:05 am ET.
