2020.03.0303:57:00UTC+00European Economics Preview: Eurozone Inflation, Unemployment Data Due

Flash inflation and unemployment figures from euro area are due on Tuesday, headlining a busy day for the European economic news.

At 1.45 am ET, the Federal Statistical Office is set to publish Swiss GDP data for the fourth quarter. Economists forecast the economy to grow 0.2 percent on quarter, following a 0.4 percent expansion in the third quarter.

At 2.00 am ET, consumer and producer prices are due from Turkey. Inflation is seen at 12.7 percent in February versus 12.15 percent in January.

At 3.00 am ET, unemployment data from Spain is due. In the meantime, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office releases producer prices and foreign trade figures.

At 4.00 am ET, Italy's monthly unemployment data is due. Economists forecast the jobless rate to remain unchanged at 9.8 percent in January.

At 4.30 am ET, the UK Markit/CIPS construction PMI is due. The index is forecast to rise to 49.0 in February from 48.4 in January.

At 5.00 am ET, Eurostat releases euro area flash inflation and producer price data. Economists forecast inflation to ease to 1.2 percent in February from 1.4 percent in January.

The unemployment data is also due from the euro area. The jobless rate is expected to remain unchanged at 7.4 percent in January.
