At 5.00 am ET Tuesday, Eurostat releases euro area consumer price data. Economists forecast inflation to ease to 0.8 percent in March from 1.2 percent in February.
Ahead of the data, the euro held steady against its major counterparts.
The euro was worth 1.0988 against the greenback, 119.18 against the yen, 1.0593 against the franc and 0.8916 against the pound at 4:55 am ET.
