At 2.00 am ET Friday, Destatis is slated to release Germany's producer prices for April. Economists forecast producer prices to fall 1.8 percent annually after easing 0.8 percent in March.
Ahead of the data, the euro held steady against its major rivals.
The euro was worth 115.88 against the yen, 1.0515 against the franc, 0.8850 against the pound and 1.0805 against the greenback as of 1:55 am ET.
