Unemployment data from the UK and ZEW economic confidence from Germany are due on Tuesday, headlining a light day for the European economic news.

At 2.00 am ET, the Office for National Statistics releases UK labor market statistics. The ILO jobless rate is seen rising to 4.4 percent in three months to March from 4 percent in three months to February.

In the meantime, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association, or ACEA, is scheduled to issue Europe's new car registrations data for April. Registrations had plunged 55.1 percent on year in March.

At 4.00 am ET, Spain's foreign trade data is due.

At 5.00 am ET, Germany's ZEW economic confidence survey results are due. The economic confidence index is expected to rise to 33.5 in May from 28.2 in April.

Also, Eurostat is set to publish euro area construction output figures for March.
