The manufacturing sector in Taiwan continued to contract in May, and at a faster rate, the latest survey from IHS Markit revealed on Monday with a manufacturing PMI score of 41.9.
That's down from 42.2 in April, and it moves further beneath the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
Individually, production fell at a substantial pace, while there was a sharp decline in total sales amid the quickest drop in exports since 2009.
There were marked decreases in both input costs and output prices.
