At 8:30 am ET Friday, the Commerce department has released U.S. retail sales for July.
After the data, the greenback changed little against its major rivals.
The greenback was trading at 106.66 against the yen, 0.9102 against the franc, 1.1814 against the euro and 1.3109 against the pound around 8:31 am ET.
