At 5.00 am ET Thursday, Eurozone retail sales data is due from Eurostat. Sales are forecast to drop 1 percent on month in September, in contrast to an increase of 4.4 percent in August.
The euro rose against its major rivals before the data. The euro was worth 1.1795 against the greenback, 122.95 against the yen, 1.0711 against the franc and 0.9048 against the pound as of 4:55 am ET.
