Eurostat has published euro area retail sales for July at 5.00 am ET Friday. The euro changed little against its major rivals after the data.
The euro was trading at 1.1871 against the greenback, 130.55 against the yen, 0.8583 against the pound and 1.0854 against the franc around 5.05 am ET.
