U.S. pending home sales for August will be released at 10:00 am ET Wednesday. Ahead of the data, the greenback strengthened against its major rivals.
The greenback was worth 111.59 against the yen, 1.1644 against the euro, 1.3455 against the pound and 0.9300 against the franc as of 9:55 am ET.
