Switzerland experienced a slight improvement in consumer confidence in March 2025, registering at -35 compared to -38 in the corresponding period the previous year. However, this figure fell short of market forecasts, which had anticipated a reading of -32. The milder pessimism was indicated by more favorable evaluations of past financial conditions, which rose from -58 in March 2024 to -42, as well as improvements in financial outlook, moving from -35 to -28, and in the assessment of the suitability for making major purchases, improving from -36 to -26. Contrarily, there was a notable decline in sentiment towards the overall economic outlook, which plummeted to -44 from -23.
