In June 2025, the Netherlands maintained a steady seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 3.8%, a figure that has remained constant over the past four months. The number of unemployed individuals increased slightly by 2,000, reaching a total of 388,000, while employment figures saw a rise of 8,000, totaling 9.840 million. The labor force participation rate also experienced a small rise, moving to 76.2% in July 2025 from 76.1% in the previous month. During this period, unemployment benefits claimed rose by 4,100, totaling 187,700. Notable increases in the number of benefits were observed in sectors such as education (+14.3%), healthcare and welfare (+2.8%), the chemical industry (+2.8%), other industries (+2.7%), and banking and insurance (+2.6%). Compared to the same period the previous year, the unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage points higher than the 3.6% recorded in July 2024.
