In July 2025, South Africa's Producer Price Index (PPI) inflation surged to 1.5%, marking its highest point in nearly a year, compared to the previous month's rate of 0.6%. Significant contributors to this rise included sectors such as coke, petroleum, chemical, rubber, and plastic products, which experienced a 1.3% increase, contributing 0.3 percentage points to the overall figure. Additionally, paper and printed products saw a 2.5% increase, adding 0.2 percentage points. On a monthly scale, producer prices edged up by 0.7%, following a 0.2% increase in the prior month.
