In August 2025, Moldova experienced a deceleration in its annual inflation rate, which decreased to 7.3% from 7.9% in July. This reduction was primarily attributed to a moderation in the price increases of food products, which rose by 8.5% compared to 10.3% in the previous month, notably within the categories of vegetables and fruits. On the other hand, inflation in non-food products experienced a slight uptick to 2.2% from 2.1%, due to rising fuel prices. Meanwhile, the cost of services saw a marginal increase, moving to 13.1% from 13% in the prior month. On a month-by-month comparison, consumer prices declined by 0.4% in August, the lowest figure recorded since December 2023, following a period of stagnation.
