In August 2025, Slovakia experienced a widening of its current account deficit, which expanded to EUR 352.3 million, up from EUR 348.7 million in the same month the previous year. The deficit in primary income increased significantly, reaching EUR 351.3 million compared to EUR 262.9 million a year earlier. Similarly, the secondary income deficit grew to EUR 141.2 million from EUR 115.2 million. Concurrently, the surplus in the services account diminished, decreasing to EUR 36.7 million from EUR 75.7 million. Notably, the goods account showed a positive shift, with a surplus of EUR 103.5 million, reversing from a deficit of EUR 46.3 million in the prior year.
