In December 2025, the ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence Index increased to 101.5, marking its peak since September 2021. This rise was driven by a surge in the future conditions index, which ascended to 108.9, the highest it has been since July 2021. Additionally, the current conditions index improved to 90.4, achieving a one-year high, although still reflective of lukewarm conditions. Inflation expectations have moderated, with a decrease in 2-year CPI expectations to 4.6% from 5.2%, thereby bolstering confidence. Meanwhile, expectations for house price inflation have edged up slightly to 4.0%.
