The number of bankruptcies in Denmark increased to a seasonally adjusted 430 in December from 388 in November, a report by Statistics Denmark said Wednesday. This represented an increase of 11% from the previous month. This was the highest level in the bankruptcies in the statistical agency's history, which dates back to 1979.
Unadjusted, the bankruptcies totaled 544 in December, up from 490 in November. Bankruptcies increased 148% in December from the same month last year.
