South Africa’s RMB/BER Business Confidence Index climbed to 47 in the first quarter of 2026, its highest level since the second quarter of 2021, up from 44 in the previous quarter. The survey indicated that confidence was boosted by a stable political environment, a supportive interest-rate stance, and favorable exchange rate movements.
