Nana Otsuki, Bank of America's Japan bank analyst, is resigning, sources said.
A Tokyo-based spokesman for BoA, James Seddon, declined to give comment.
The Nikkei Veritas has ranked Otsuki second among bank analysts in Japan this year. She joined the U.S. firm's Merrill Lynch Japan Securities Co. unit in June 2011 after working at UBS Group AG and Standard & Poor's.
