European stock markets marche forward on Monday, with investors waiting for U.S. bellwether Alcoa Inc. to kick off the profits season later in the day. Banks displayed some of the largest gains in the pan-European index. Shares of Banco Comercial Portugues SA acquired a 5.8% increase, Lloyds Banking Group PLC bolstered 2.5% and Danske Bank AS spiked 1.6%. Among country-specific indexes, Germany's DAX 30 index climbed 1.2%, while France's CAC 40 index leapt 1.1% to 3,795.77. The U.K.'s FTSE 100 index exchanged 0.8% greater at 6,425.09.
