European Commission leader Jean-Claude Juncker is hoping the European Union can finalize a trade pact with Canada on Friday, which is being deferred by oppositions from a portion of Belgium.
The Commission president said he cannot assimilate how it will be likely to seal agreements with other countries worldwide if the bloc cannot close the CETA pact with Canada.
Juncker added efforts by officials to persuade Wallonia leaders to repeal its veto on Belgium's approval to the agreement would go on overnight.
