Shares of semiconductors companies Qualcomm and NXP Semiconductors rose as deal nears completion, the Bloomberg reported.
Qualcomm and NXP shares rose 3 percent and 4 percent, respectively, in Thursday afternoon trading. The shares ended the day with Qualcomm rising 2 percent, and NXP gaining more than 3 percent.
U.S.-based Qualcomm is willing to offer 75 percent cash and 25 percent stock, while Dutch-based NXP prefers an all-cash offer, a report said. While NXP is hoping for a $120 per share deal, Qualcomm is leaning towards $110 per shares. But according to Bloomberg, both companies are closing the gap more, suggesting that a deal may be finalized soon.
