Exchange Rates 30.11.2020 analysis

Stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region are mostly in a downbeat mood Monday morning. The major stock indexes are reducing their positions, but there are also some that go against the emerging trend. At the same time, even the rather positive situation overseas could not influence the surging negative. Indexes in the US continue to break records and grow with enviable intensity.

Japan's Nikkei 225 index was 0.65% lower. Note that there are quite good statistics on the country's economy. In particular, the level of retail sales for the second month of autumn showed an increase that has not happened for eight months. Moreover, the rate of increase has already been the highest over the past year. The indicator was able to increase by 6.4% compared to the level that was in September last year.

China's Shanghai Composite index rose 0.5% and was the only one with positive dynamics in the region. The Hong Kong Hang Seng index did not support the trend which sank by 1.07%.

Meanwhile, statistics on the Chinese economy also turned out to be very encouraging. In particular, the level of activity in the Chinese industrial sector in the second month of autumn continues to grow rapidly, with growth lasting for the ninth time in a row, which can not but inspire investors with hopes for a speedy recovery.

The PMI of the manufacturing industry became larger and reached the level of 52.1 points, while earlier it was 51.4 points. Thus, the new result was the highest in more than three years.

South Korea's KOSPI fell 0.97%.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Index sank 1.3%.

The major stock indexes in the European stock exchanges observed multidirectional movement. The pause is observed in all markets globally, including Europe. The main attention of traders is now focused on the progress of the negotiation process between the UK and the EU over Brexit.

This week will be important for the European Union and the UK, as the main points and deadlines for the implementation of the deal must be decided. If this does not happen, there will be no positive result. At the same time, it is worth noting that the main part of the problems is quite narrow and specific. However, the entire future of the negotiations will depend on this decision.

The general index of large enterprises in the European region STOXX Europe 600 became slightly higher by 0.04%. Its current level moved to the mark of 393.07 points.

The UK FTSE 100 Index climbed 0.3%. The German DAX Index rose 0.18%. On the other hand, France's CAC 40 index declined by 0.26%. Italy's FTSE Index sank 0.58%. Spain's IBEX 35 index fell below the rest, falling 0.97%.
