This initiative was proposed by US President Donald Trump. He dropped a hint of doubt that Mr Comey is able to effectively lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein advised Mr Trump to dismiss the FBI Director.
