Japanese stocks bolstered early Tuesday after a record finish for the S&P 500 Index on Wall Street, although a firmer yen versus the U.S. dollar recorded improvements. The Nikkei Stock Average acquired 0.3% increase to 14,822.83, extending its winning streak after finishing at its highest point since December 2007 on Monday. The broader Topix pushed 0.3% higher to 1,235.54. Among the notable gainers, Hino Motors Ltd. uptrends 2.2% and Isuzu Motors Ltd. surged 1.7% after the Nikkei newspaper reported the two firms have boosted their budget outlays for the current monetary year after posting record-high earnings in the last fiscal. Citizen Holdings Co. skyrocketed 7% after forecasting a return to profit this financial year. Astellas Pharma Inc. boosted 3.9% on news the company plans to reorganize its research operations.
