On Monday and Tuesday, UK Secretary of Commerce Elizabeth Truss and US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer are set to meet in Washington to discuss the progress of the US-UK free trade agreement and relationship.

Since Brexit in January, the United Kingdom has been trying to resolve issues of independent trade, opening up many trade routes through negotiations with different countries, one of which is with the United States, which it considers a priority.
